A Thousand Champions Against Hunger

Nearly half a million Connecticut residents struggle with hunger and food insecurity. Our friends. Our families. Our neighbors. Our members.

1 in 8 people in Hartford and Tolland Counties are at risk of hunger, and for children, it’s 1 in 7. That’s 121,000 individuals in those two counties alone, including more than 34,000 children.

IT SHOULDN’T BE LIKE THAT! And we’re going to do something about it.

Hartford Federal Credit Union is launching its THOUSAND CHAMPIONS AGAINST HUNGER campaign. If 1,000 individuals donate just 10 pounds of food each, we will reach our goal of 10,000 pounds of food!

The campaign will run through the end of the year and the food will be dispersed to local food banks in January when many establishments are desperately in need of replenishment after the holidays.

To contribute to this worthwhile campaign, please visit any branch location to drop off food or make a monetary donation.

If you'd rather mail a donation, you may do so to:

Checks can be made payable to Hartford Federal Credit Union with TCAH Campaign in the memo line.

As an acknowledgement of the generosity of our donors, individuals and companies who donate will have their names and donations recognized on our website as a special thanks to our thousand champions against hunger. Recognition levels are 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 500+ pounds! Monetary donations will be recognized as 1 pound for each $1 donated.

Our THOUSAND CHAMPIONS AGAINST HUNGER campaign is a compelling example of how together - ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
