Hartford Federal Credit Union Donates to Windsor Food and Fuel Bank

Hartford Federal Credit Union President & CEO Ed Danek, Jr. (right) presented a $5,000 check to Laura Soll-Broxterman, a member of the Board of the Windsor Food and Fuel Bank on Thursday, July 20. The contribution was made through Hartford Federal Credit Union’s “Hartford Federal Credit Union Gives 2023” campaign and brings HFCU’s total 2023 Windsor Food and Fuel Bank donations to $15,000.

Laura Soll-Broxterman explained, "We are extremely grateful for this donation toward the Windsor Food & Fuel Bank’s Fuel & Utilities Assistance program. It provides emergency crisis benefits to eligible residents in town who are experiencing hardship with utility bills such as electricity, water, and heating. There is a critical need for this type of assistance year-round, and not only during the winter months as some think."

Hartford Federal Credit Union Gives 2023 is HFCU’s charitable giving initiative through which $250,000 will be donated to organizations that provide basic services to people of modest means.  As HFCU’s President & CEO Ed Danek explained, “This giving reflects our core values and is part of who we are as well as being a good corporate citizen.  It is in our DNA, and we are pleased to be in a position to help people during these difficult times.”

Seven months into 2023, HFCU has given over $115,000 through donations to the Joan C. Dauber Food Bank at St. Francis Hospital, The Village for Families & Children, South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, My Sisters’ Place, Windsor Food and Fuel Bank, Simsbury Food Pantry, Safe Net Ministries, Newington Food Bank, Malta House of Care, Operation Fuel, Curtis D. Robinson Center for Health Equity, Holcomb Farm, and Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
